The Jacquelyn Project

The Jacquelyn Project

Jacquelyn (Dahneke) Penrose fought a valiant long-term battle with breast cancer that began in 2015.  Her father Marshall decided to walk her path with her, however he could, and that translated into changes like shaving his head, overhauling his diet, and becoming more active.  While ultimately, Marshall’s family is mourning the recent passing of Jacquelyn, despite every effort, he is now actually healthier than ever before, having lost 85 pounds and become a long-distance runner.  In the spirit of keeping Jacquelyn’s legacy alive and bright, Marshall has qualified for and committed to running the 2023 Boston Marathon in her memory … and on behalf of the Massage Therapy Foundation (supporting research, education, and community service) with a portion of the proceeds directed towards breast cancer community service projects.

Marshall and his campaign team, led by Lynda Solien-Wolfe, a 30-year veteran massage therapist, are securing corporate sponsors, including from outside the massage profession, who desire to become better known by the 220,000 active therapists and, through recommendations, to their millions of clients. Massage Magazine has agreed to be the Platinum Media Sponsor and serve as the primary communication pathway to the massage profession, covering Marshall’s preparation for Boston, his ongoing wellness journey, and the role partner brands can play, in conjunction with massage therapy, in keeping us healthy, active, well, and pain-free.
